Description
The volume illustrates the collaborative photographic project by the visual artist Simona Galeotti and the photographer Turi Rapisarda that was born at the end of October 2006 in the former cemetery of San Pietro in Vincoli in Turin, Italy, immediately after the success of their self-managed exhibition “Daimon1” , that was conceived and organized by Simona.
“Storie di spettri e di fantasmi” (Stories of Spectres and Ghosts) come to life by playing with the camera in the empty space of the former cemetery by interpreting it, oscillating between aesthetic rigor and the curiosity of the unfathomable.
We are inside a religious-spiritual, magical-scientific experience, – Turi and Simona tell, – when we show our photos of spectres and ghosts in public, we spark a face-to-face meeting full of visions, stories to tell, everyone has
their own, everyone has lived experiences. There are no computer manipulations or in the darkroom, that is where our photos are still printed with the traditional hand method with silver print.
