Starting with the celebrations of the fortieth anniversary of the Basaglia Law and the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the exhibitions “VISIONS BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH: GIORGIO BARBERO & C.” and “(IM) PERMEABILI” at PARI, Polo delle Arti Relational and Irregolari dell’Opera Barolo, the Gliacrobati Gallery, the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation in Turin and StudioDieci in Vercelli, offered food for thought on the transformation of psychiatry and services social, investigating the connections with contemporary art. A reinterpretation supplemented by authoritative contributions from different perspectives, both disciplinary and experiential, which also took place through meetings and workshops held during the exhibitions. These events have enhanced part of the submerged heritage of irregular authors and Piedmontese outsiders, the subject of investigation of the regional project Mai Visti and Altre Storie (www.maivisti.it).
