Description

The idea for the book was born from an intense and refined dialogue between the poems of Pino Menzio, some of which have already been published in the collection “Mar abierto” published in Spain in 2021 and the true driving force of the project, with the works of Marcella Tisi. The artist distances herself from the images evoked directly by the verses, avoids any realistic representation, and instead aims for a particular alchemy, for something deeper and more mysterious. Freeing herself “from what is material and concrete, to elevate herself on a spiritual plane in harmony with the poet”, Marcella Tisi’s art “creates a hypnotic effect that, rather than accompanying the poems from the outside, seems to envelop them in an embrace of strong spirituality. Rarely has a closer interpenetration between word and drawing been seen” (from the introduction by Alejandro Duque Amusco).
