Description
Mario San Pietro was an artist with many faces: sporty, adventurous, architect-urban planner of great modernity, a man of culture, painter and sculptor of considerable personality. Much of his pictorial work moves on a double track: on the one hand a fast and chromatically violent gesture and on the other an abstractionism of matter, which has made the recovered material an opportunity to bring to the surface memories of ancient travels, visions of architectural structures observed from above as from the cockpit of an airplane, which lowers in a bird’s eye view over the cities encountered.
