GUBINELLI PAOLO

Paolo Gubinelli was born in Matelica (Macerata -Italy) in 1945 and lives and works in Florence. He graduated from the Art Institute of Macerata, majoring in painting, and continued his studies in Milan, Rome, and Florence as a graphic designer, designer, and architect. At a very young age, he discovered Lucio Fontana’s spatial concept, which shaped a constant direction in his research. He met and developed a shared understanding of ideas with artists and architects Giovanni Michelucci, Bruno Munari, Ugo La Pietra, Agostino Bonalumi, Alberto Burri, Enrico Castellani, Piero Dorazio, Emilio Isgrò, Umberto Peschi, Edgardo Mannucci, Mario Nigro, Emilio Scanavino, Sol Lewitt, Giuseppe Uncini, and Zoren. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. His works are permanently exhibited in major Italian and international museums. In 2011 it was hosted at the 54th Venice Biennale – Italian Pavilion at the Arsenale, with the installation of 28 cards accompanied by an unpublished manuscript by Tonino Guerra.
