FRANCO ELENAElena Franco (Torino, 1973) is an architect and photographer. She works on artistic projects aimed at urban and territorial enhancement. Since 2014 her work has consistently been on display in museums and institutions both in Italy and abroad. After being the subject of presentations and exhibitions held in institutional seats in Milan, Naples, Vercelli, Lausanne, Venice, Florence, Arles (France), Lessines (Belgium) and Siena, complemented by conventions and workshops inspired by her work, her main research “Hospitalia. Or on the meaning of care”, ongoing since 2012, found expression in a book published by ARTEMA (2017). Her more recent work on the historic hospitals of Siena, Beaune and Lessines has been published in a volume titled Ars Curandi (ARTEMA 2021). Her works feature in public and private collections and her project “Imago Pietatis” – accomplished for Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna and exhibited by Studio Cenacchi Arte Contemporanea – won her an award from the New Post Photography Prize at the MIA Fair 2020. As one of the artists in residence invited by Creativamente Roero, in 2021 she completed a public art project titled An Archive of the Sea on Land for the Council of Magliano Alfieri (Cn).
