ANGELETTI ALESSANDRO
Alessandro Angeletti was born in Rome in 1949, he studied at the Liceo Artistico in via di Ripetta, where he had, among others, as teachers Lorenzo Gigotti, Diego Pettinelli and Franco Cannilla. After graduating, he enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture. Painter, he trained artistically in Rome in the second half of the 1960s and, for many years, signed his works with the pseudonym “Xangô”.
Of his work Angeletti says: “During my artistic experience, which began in the seventies, I have always had clear, in my pictorial imagination, the perception of a world that was gradually crumbling, to such an extent that I no longer have an image unitary, neither real nor ideal. What remains are fragments and it is precisely on the fragment that I have worked for many years. Like the German in Brecht’s poem who, after the Second World War, went around with a brick under his arm to show everyone what his house was like, recovering the fragments to restore a unified image of the world I’m about , little by little, gaining experience”.
He has exhibited in art galleries in Italy and abroad in Germany and Brazil.
