FONDAZIONE 107

The Fondazione 107 is an exhibition space for the dissemination of contemporary art in all its forms and expressions. The non-profit institution was inaugurated in Turin in May 2009 in the area where the Piccari family had taken its first steps in engineering business in the 1950s. The exhibition site covers an area of ​​about 1500 square meters of a former industrial warehouse dating back to the 1950s. In the redevelopment project it was decided to keep the signs of the identity of this place. The architectural structure has the characteristic barrel roof with skylights and is evidence of the industrial archeology of the past development that has strongly characterized this area. The objectives of the Foundation are to create contaminations between different worlds, favoring the comparison and exchange of the arts with the creative fields through exhibitions, events and interdisciplinary debates. promote artistic research free from conditioning, giving space to independent artists and curators, broaden the public interested in contemporary art. Art, since it expresses what is deepest in man, is communication, it is a life experience open to all. Furthermore, the 107 Foundation promotes educational activities in collaboration with Italian and foreign institutions which include training projects and workshops.
